SD or Compact Flash Memory?

I just got my new Toshiba e740, and it has 2 memory slots, a SD media slot, and a Compact Flash Typ 2 memory slot. What I was wondering is, should I use the SD or Compact Flash Memory? What are the benefits of one over the other?

You're fortunate to get to make a choice! Simple answer: SD.

There are CF devices for GPS, ethernet, wireless ethernet, VGA output, etc. Using the CF slot for a device lets you use the SD for memory. There may be SD devices in the near future, but right now you have none.

Thanks for the quick response, and I'll keep it in mind. One other quick question, do you know where I can purchase SD memory in 256 MB or greater capacity?

I am not 100% sure, but I think the max size for SD right now is 128mb.

If you need more capacity then that regularly, you'll just have to keep the CF slot filled. But if you just want to keep movies or something on it, something that you can pull out if you want to use a WiFi adapter, then I'd just go with a 256mb CF card and pull it out as needed. Keep the 128mb SD card in the device and load programs onto that.

Max size for SD right now is 512MB. There are a few links around the web that show a Toshiba e550g surrouned by four 512MB SD cards.

I stand corrected then. I haven't seen anything bigger then 128mb in SD at my usual venders of choice, so I assumed they hadn't begun marketing them yet.
