SD memory card problem

I have a HP photosmart 735 digital camera. I just bought a new compaq laptop with built-in memory reader. I just bought today a 64mb SanDisk SD memory card. When I take pictures with the memory card you can view them fine when the card is in the camera. When I insert the card into the reader in the laptop I have a problem. When I try to copy a picture to my hard drive it says it is corrupt. It also will show no preview when highlighted nor will it open properly in various photo software.

Could the memory be defective or is it possibly something to do with the reader.

Have you tried checking the FAQ on the HP site? If the FAQ doesn't help, then contact HP support directly. They were very quick to respond when my refurb 735 was funky. There is a firmware update for the 735 - make sure it's installed properly.

how old is the camera? I bought a card that was too big for my camera. (too many MB) and the camera wouldn't write to it properly. Make sure your camera can use a 64mb card.

I have a 256MB Kingmax in my 735 and it seems to work OK. I don't hava a card reader to try it in yet.
