sd card speeds

I just bought a new SD Card and I'm trying to figure out the speed of it. I usually see3 40x, 60x, etc...

I transferred a file over to it and it averaged about 4MB/sec. How do I transfer that into X speed?

What is a good reliable way to measure the speed of an SD card ?
