I wonder when the Wii craze will die. Some how, Nintendo doesn't seem to take as much flak for the shortcomings of thier system as Sony does for thiers. They got the wiimote going for them, and thats about it, everything else is sub-par.
Sub-par? It's small, it's quiet, it's fun, it's cheap, and the control system is neat. It's
not meant to compete graphically with the PS3 or Xbox 360. Heck,
the games aren't even designed to compete...Nintendo has always been a "fun" game company. I have an Xbox for playing games by myself like Far Cry, Halo, Half-Life 2, and so on. Honestly
I don't think I'd recommend a Wii for single-player use, it's more of a party system. Everyone I've had over to play on the Wii has loved it, even my brother who is a PS3 fanboy. He did complain about the graphics initially, but that's kind of like saying a bike stinks because it's not as fast as a car.
There's just no comparison - a Wii isn't a PS3, nor is it a 360. It's not designed to do high definition movies or even regular DVDs. It's just a fun game console to play with your family and friends. Nothing sub-par about it...
