So I've got my first digital camera, and I'm getting ready to go on a trip to Ireland for 9 days. I need to get my sd memory, I figure I need at least 2gb, maybe more. I'm a newbie, it's going to be point and shoot tourist photos, but there should be lots of chances for nature.
/landscape shots and busy shots during the st patrick's day festival

I am buying an extra battery for the camera that comes with a cheapo 1gb stick of memory - here

but for the memory im actually buying, how fast should I get? is it smart to get 2 gb sticks or multiple 1 gb sticks .

I also need a bag, I'm probably going to throw the camera into a small old army daypack, but i'd still like to have the camera in it's own bag for protection, I'm tentatively looking at this one because newegg recommended it and im getting ready to put in a newegg order anyway

I would get a 2gb card, since its a hassle switching cards in the middle of the trip (plus these SD cards are so small they are easily misplaced)

As far as speed of the card, I don't think it makes that much of a difference unless you are taking large size raw format images

****** has great deals on SD cards most of which with free shipping. After looking at newegg (since your going to be ordering from there anyways) they have some nice prices on A-data, Kingston and OCZ, I use Kingston in my Cannon Powershot and A-data in my Nintendo DS, Ive never had any problems with either brand.

As for size of SD card, I personally see no reason to get a 2gb, I use 1gb cards. With my cameras resolution set at max widescreen (2816x1584) and quality set at the highest, I can hold ~400 pictures on a 1gb card and 1gb cards are dirt cheap.
