Scythe Ninja out of stock everywhere?

I'm in the middle of a Core 2 Duo build (what an incredible surprise), and when I went shopping for a Scythe Ninja, I found they were suddenly sold out pretty much everywhere. In fact, the only stores that I could find that don't list them as out of stock are those that don't state whether products are in stock at all. This is the case both for the vanilla and Plus versions.

Newegg gives an ETA 3 weeks from now.

Is something up? Major supply issue, or minor hiccup? Scythe doesn't mark the Ninja Plus as discontinued on their website.

Does anyone know of a retailer that definitively states they have the Ninja (or Ninja Plus) in stock?

I am in the same boat. Looks like this is going to hold up my build. I am not sure if I should order all my stuff now or wait three weeks. But then, everything might be cheaper!

Hi,

I just wanted to let everybody know there is a store that has the ninja plus in stock : http://www.acousticpc.com/scythe_ninja_cpu_cooler.html

I just bought mine there(local store for me, Miami) and the owner told me that he has like 4 more in stock, so better hurry before they are gone! any question just call or send an email from the web page (I don't work for them, just sharing the info)

that's all. I hope it helps somebody to finish their rig soon.

Leo.

I read last night that the ninja is being redesigned to also fit AM2 boards. It's supposed to be released this month (according to the article). Might be clearing out old stock while waiting to switch to the new one.

Meh, for the price you'd pay at those stores, you might as well just get an Ultra 120 from Jab-Tech unless you're planning to run a really slow speed fan (which from most reviews I've seen is the only time the ninja cools better. Also, you can add a Yate Loon 120mm fan for $3 more if you get it. That's what's on it's way to me.
