SCSI transfer speed and controllers?????

I have 2 hard drives that are Quantum Atlas 10k II 36g ultra 160. My computer only has a ultra wide scsi controller. The hard drives will only max transfer 40mb/s by quantums specs, so will I get any performance boost from a ultra 160 controller. If the ultrawide controller max's at 40mb/s and the hard drive max's at 40 mb/s, what good is a controller that max's at 160mb/s other than raid. If I have gotten it all wrong let me know too.

Thanks 🙂

In typical usage you likely wont see the difference. Faster seek speeds will typically benefit you more than sequential data rate.
