SCSI terminator?

Ok, I'm unsure of what a terminator is for a scsi device?

Isn't all you have to do is buy a cable withenough inputs for your needs? (and set each one to it's own ID #)?

only the last device at the end of the chain needs to be terminated.
for lvd cable the terminator needs to be at the end of the cable ie active termination! 🙂

All scsi chains have to be properly terminated. Some drives/cdrom drives have built in termination that you can enable with a jump. If your drive does offer this, you won't need a to buy a separate terminator. Otherwise you will have to buy one and connect it to the last connector on the cable.
