SCSI target error?

I'm trying to burn a cd on the fly using nero
I have an 8x scsi panasonic cdr and a 50x asus cdrom
usually it'll burn correctly til the very end
and when it tries to write the lead out it'll say scsi target error and the burn will fail

what's causing this problem?

What OS are you using? If 95/98/ME, the first thing I would do is reextract the Windows ASPI layer. If that doesn't do it, boot into safemode and look for ghost listings for your CD-ROMS in device manager (again assuming you are using 95/98/me)

Silly me, I guess you are using 2k. I would suspect the error has nothing to do with SCSI and simply means your burn crapped out (because of bad media?). Did you switch the type of media that you are using recently? You can find out what kind of media it is by reading the ATIP with a utility called CDR Identifier from gamecopyworld.com Then you can stay away from this type in the future.

I am assuming the ASUS is an IDE cdrom? Seems like the majority of burn problems on SCSI devices will either be inproper termination or bad media. ALso I dont know what program you use to burn but Win2k always used Nero best for me. Also if its an older CDRW and you are burning 80 minute disks, some older models are not compatible with the 80Min disks.
