Is it possible to have two scsi adapters on a scsi chain in separate systems and have both systems share the chain? Thanks in advance.

Only in rare cases with very special hardware on the chain.

Dell sells "PERC" RAID controllers and external RAIDs (powervaults) that are "clusterable." We have one at work. Each of two machines hava a Dell PERC RAID controller connected to an external RAID that has 2 SCSI ports (one for each machine). Both machines can access the RAID simultaneously.

But the cards and RAID are set up for that. I never heard of any other setup that allowed two SCSI controllers to control a single set of devices.

You might want to change the title of the thread to be more descriptive. This is a legitimate SCSI question that may get overlooked because the people that know the answer may think it is another "Is SCSI good" question and ignore it.

You might want to bounce the question off of pabster. Off of the top of my head I can't think of anyone else who may know.
