The only SCSI-2 controller card I have now is the one that Sony bundled with my Spressa 8x write/4x read CD-R.
I noticed there's no DIP BIOS chip, and its PCI.
I'm trying to move the contents from my D740X onto a Hawk 4 (Seagate) so I can use my D740X in my AMD computer (long story - but the 75GXP died).
Now the problem is, WinXp reads the Hawk 4 properly but only when it loads certain drivers, etc... and boots into XP.
DOS does not recognize it at all...
I cannot boot with this SCSI drive.
Is it because the controller card most likely does not have the ability to allow boot-up drives to be installed?
I do not see a "press Ctrl-I" to access SCSI bios.
It's an Initio 9090U (w/o the external port - just a single 50-pin channel).
What should I do?
I bought a EISA Adaptec from eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...8840&ed=1032219202&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOA:US:2
hoping it will work on my Abit BH6 to allow for me to boot into a SCSI drive.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
