I have one WIDE device, the rest are 50pin.
ID Device
1 InterSys PCD-15B PCMCIA reader
2 InterSys PCD-15B PCMCIA reader
The above is one device, but it has 2 SCSI ID's

3 Plextor UltraPlex 40 Wide
4 Plextor PlexWrite 12/10/32S
5 Pioneer DVD-305S

6 External Scanner, HP 4C

I will add a SCSI Burner (IDE with SCSI adapter).

The problem is my chain length will be over 4.9' which is outside spec....I need about 3' for my scanner now, once I get a new place I can get an 18" cable and put it on the other side of my machine.

Anyone know a solution? Also good cables and 68 pin to 50 pin convertors or even a custom cable maker?

Thanks
Chris

What controoler are you using? You can probably get a 50 pin internal control to run everything off that. Make the plextor run in non wide and add a converter. Usually on the controller they have the connection for external devices i.e. your scanner. I had at one time 4 scsi devices on my 50pin connection. Just get a propper cable with the amout of devices you want and a controller that has a connection for external devices. Heck I got this advansys that can do the trick if you want real cheap. I think its rated up to only 20mps

Adding the devices is not the problem....it's only having one channel and a scsi chain that is too long.

My 390F by Tekram can control 15 devices...if the chain is within spec. I am at over 4.9' / 3 meters....with my full tower it will be impossible more than likely to have 6 internal devices and 1 external in this setup.
