SCSI Channels??

I just picked up the Acer Altos Server. It has a HDD cage with 5 hot swappable SCSI HDD and there is a internal SCSI HDD also.

This is my first time dealing with SCSI, so my question is...

What channel do I install the internal SCSI drive on? What channel do I put the HDD cage on?

I put the internal single on channel A and the cage on channel B

Any help, thoughts, or opinions are appreciated.

Thanks...

I suppose the way you have it is about as correct as possible. With SCSI it doesn't matter too much because the SCSI adapter's BIOS setup will allow you to configure which drive will be the boot drive, etc. down to about the minutest detail. You should be able to pick up manuals for the Altos on the Acer web site.
. Is the SCSI adapter an add-on card or is it integrated into the mobo? In either case, you should be able to get a specific manual for it on its mfr's web site too. Which will most often be Adaptec.com - all you need is the boards model no. or the chipset number.
. And the above link is great for general SCSI info and more links. This is the same: http://www.scsifaq.org .
