SCSI cable question

Hello,
I am trying to connect a tape library (HP MSL 2024 AG115A) to my HBA card (Adaptec 29320A ultra320 scsi) on my server.

At the incorrect advice of someone on another forum, I purchased HP part 110941-001. The wide end fits onto both the tape drive and the HBA, but the VHDCI end doesn't, because I don't have that kind of connector. So it appears I need a HD68 to HD68 cable.

I am now looking for the correct cable on ebay but don't understand everything.

1-Is HD68 the same thing as HPDB68?

2-Both of my devices say "LVD" on the port, the tape drive in addition says "SE", does this affect the type of cable required?

3-Is there such thing as a "regular HD68 cable" and a "LVD HD68 Cable"?

4-If I buy a cable that just says HD68 M/M like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-SCSI-Cabl...t=US_Drive_Cables_dapters&hash=item35ad9ddb0e

or

http://www.ebay.com/itm/10ft-HD68-6...t=US_Drive_Cables_dapters&hash=item4d0f598a8d

...will that work with my devices?

I want to get the right cable this time so please help me.
Thanks

LVD, SE and HVD refer to signal levels not cable type but you would need the proper terminaltion for the signal. Many devices have onboard termination though so you need to refer to documentation of each individual item and terminate only the last one on the bus at the end of the cable away from the controller/HBA. There are limits to bus length due to signal type as well.

The tape drive says "SCSI ◊ LVD/SE" on the port.

The HBA says "SCSI ◊ LVD" on the port.

Will either of the 2 cables be fine then?

ok, all I need to know is if both of the cables in my first post are fine, because I need to buy one of them very soon.

So as long as I have proper termination, any HD68 cable is fine?
