Was going thru a bunch of old hardware I had and found my old python 1.3G tape drive.
I have a lot of old tapes and wanted to see what was on them.
I found the old 2940 scsi controller and put it all on an old system with xp pro.
In the hardware the card and drive show up fine.
I found my old copy of novaback, I believe that is what I used to write some of the last tapes.

Well the software does not see the drive.
I can not find anything that will allow me to read the tapes or even see the drive as a connected device.
Is there something else I need to do ?
Some driver or something?

thanks for any help its just been tooooo long since I messed with a tape drive.

Make sure the tape drive has a different scsi ID than the controler and that the 2940's bios sees the tape drive, if it does you need to make sure you load the driver for the tap drive and windows sees the drive in the device manager before you can use your backup software
