scripting errors

W10 ie11. Been plagued with script errors, halting browsing. I know this is an old issue, but lately worse. Have googled much, and found several suggested fixes. Removed google toolbar, disabled script debugging, play animations. No help. Don't want to change browser. Anything new on this? I know MS could fix if they wanted to.

Just 1 computer. About 1/3 the pages I go to. It's a message box in the middle of the screen that goes away when I click enter. Malwarebytes running real time.

Do you run any adblockers? Because it sounds like a (possibly malfunctioning) ad. I never use IE for personal use. So maybe this is a new norm, but my parents still use it, and whenever we are at their house and I use it for someyhing, it seems to run ok (adblock installed).

You said that you have Malwarebytes running, but when was the last time you actively ran a scan with it?

No adblockers. Malwarebytes is running real time, so it scans daily. The script error is a small window mid screen, which disappears when I click enter. It just slows me down. appears about 1/3 of the time

I tried. Hope this is it. From MS Paint. Couldn't copy. Scripting error would not let me until I stopped it.

OK. Here's one. Remember, W10, IE 11.

Box appears mid page, and wont go away till I click Enter. May need to do it several times.
I have opened this page several times in IE and have yet to see a problem. I don't use IE, so mine is bone stock with no history. What add-ons have you added to the browser?

Some ideas:
Try a scan with MalwareBytes
Try running AbBlock Plus for Internet Explorer
Try clearing evering from IE (history, cookies, cache, etc) and see if the issue returns

Done all that. With adblock+, IE11, runs like shit. Almost unusable for me. Going to set IE 11 to default in advanced options, and see what happens.

I think a lot of us here would say that IE is almost unusable in any fashion. It's not that it doesn't work, it's just that browsers like Firefox and Chrome do it better, faster, and safer.

I have recently begun to use IE 11 for this site, now that my system leaves FF susceptible to a black screen bug which I have detailed else where and only arises using this site. 😱. I notice that IE is faster loading the sites I visit including this one and others. IE has ABP and a Logitech add on, besides the defaults, while FF has ABP, a colour theme and a font enlarger.
The only downside with IE I find is that it lacks smooth scrolling so I enjoy FF more, despite its relative slowness, which of course is measured in a few ms and would not really favour IE except for the bug I now have.🙁
