Script to turn on and off windows xp

I have a small network with windows vista and xp. The "server" is windows xp and there is a nas that is lunix based. I would like the server and nas to turn on and off with my system. I figured this could be done with some sort of script. But i have no idea how to do this if someone could help me out that would be great.

Turning off windows XP is easy. shutdown.exe is a command line executable you can script to turn it off. Turning it on would require Wake-on-Lan and this tool http://www.matcode.com/wol.htm

Not sure how to script linux turn off and on.

Thanks for the info. Is there anyone who can turn theses in to batch files that i can add to my startup folder. I have no clue how to do this.
