Hi all,
Thanks in advance for you help, once again. I'm visiting my f-in-law and he has been struggling with a few problems with his pc.
These problems all started a few weeks ago and may be related to something Comcast did to update the cable internet account. This is Comcast Infinity.
The first issue is, when you navigate around on the internet (Explorer, I can't seem to figure out which version), 90% of the pages you go to, including the one you go to when you click for a new tab, give the two same script errors back to back immediately. The first one says:
Script Error
An Error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 1
Char: 1
Error: 'Components' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: chrome://comcasttb/content/lib/external.js
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? Yes No
The second one is identical except it's Line 14, the Error reads "Object doesn't support property or method 'inherits'" and the URL is "chrome://comcasttb/content/comcastRSS.js".
The second issue is that occassionally, for no reason (per my f-in-law) a window comes up informing him that he's not the site administrator. His is the only user account on the pc and he's listed as the administrator there, so I'm guessing this refers to a website administrator? And if so, why on earth is it fussing at him?
Finally, his biggest complaint is that he can no longer go on youtube and some other site because they require Adobe Flash 10.3. He's tried many times to dl Adobe Flash 10.3 and most times nothing happens--he clicks it, waits, and in task manager it claims to be running, but nothing changes and he gives up after an hour or so. Last night he thought he'd got through the whole dl process, but it doesn't appear to have worked anyway. I'm going to give this one a shot myself as I wonder if maybe he'd dling it but then not running the install... but if you have an opinion on this it would still be greatly appreciated.
Any advice or fixes are heartily welcomed--he's talking about going out a buying a new pc and he can't afford to do that.
To sum up:
1) What is the deal with these two script errors?
2) How do we stop them popping up constantly?
3) What's with this site administrator error?
4) Can anything be done to fix that?
5) Why might he be having this problem with Adobe Flash 10.3?
6) Is there a way to fix that?
Thanks a million in advance!

I tried to dl Adobe Flash and I'm running into problems. The first time, everything looked good, it got about halfway through the dl, and then said I needed to close Internet Explorer. I did, but the same message kept popping up. I went into Task Manger to see if somehow Explorer was still running, but it was not. I finally exited out. Now when I try to dl it, I get those two script errors when I come to the page with the instructions on clicking "run" on various windows, and then I can't get it to start the dl at all. I don't really understand why, it just says it failed.
