This machine runs an updated Windows 10 OS. Occasionally a script error notice appears long after I have stopped any uses. The desktop has only Windows apps and the error appears after I have left the machine idle for a while. I'm usually away doing other tasks.Task manager shows only Windows apps running, no browser ( FF) and I have no idea the cause. Baffling since nothing appears to be calling for a script.
The error reads the line and character numbers ( 2/68) then says
Error-Unable to get property get of undefined or null reference
Code 0
URL
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page Yes/No.
Neither has stopped the error.
Are there any steps I can take to solve this problem ?

If you can better nail down what days/times it triggers, then I'd look at Task Scheduler to see if something is running then.

some sort of background http/https auto-update checker / fetcher? Check your startup tasks. Maybe mouse/keyboard or AV software auto-update.

Thanks for the suggestions . There are only two sorts of scheduled tasks, for One Drive and for Edge, and the triggers are frequent enough to conclude that if they were the source of the error there would be an error every few minutes at certain times of the day. Whereas there is one error notice, ramdonly it appears, and infrequently.
As for an auto update, it may be, but I know of only two auto updaters, the email ( Thunder Bird) and browser(FF) and both give notice of an update and wait for a manual OK to proceed.
I just updated FF with no script error. If the source were a java script, where would I run that down on this OS ? Does the browser use java or is animation etc now governed by http ?

I would suggest removing both and seeing if any script errors continue. also Ive had many many problems with Logitech software. it is trash. i like their devices. I use a mxkeys. I'm only thankful that it doesn't require their terrible software. also why don't you install the full software instead of the setpoint addon for your browser? you should take a look at the software adblocker pihole. you could run it off a small sbc connected to your router instead of using trash addons for your browser. adblock an stuff like it takes cpu power to use and it also wastes extra time doing it then displaying it and if your using a phone or laptop it uses more power from your battery meaning more heat. just some stuff to note.

edit: you can run pihole software off a raspberry pi zero with dietpi os. I use a raspberry pi 4 with dietpi os to host a samba share the pihole dns adblock software and a installation docker and home assistant.

editedit: der heres a link Pi-hole – Network-wide protection

editeditedit: *I guess you can install it on stuff like network storage or some flavors of linux. :)

Have you looked at your event logs (system and application)?

There are no related errors I can see but will look more thoroughly.
Bogie identified. Little ah heck appears in conjunction with a notification arising from the bottom right Notification area of the Task Bar even though I have set third party notification to OFF. The ERROR appears when an ad to upgrade an app eludes my TB setting. The Script error appears first, then the Nero AD and under no other circumstances. Thankfully the ad push is happening everless frequently. Thank you Nero .
