Wasnt sure what board to post this in anyway heres my issue. My computer crashes not frequently maybe once a day, i ran prime 95 for about 3 hours and it didnt get past the first test. this is screwy because i ran it a week ago and it went for 24+ hours on it. also on memtest my memory tested fine. ran ati tool for my C3D x800gto and it didnt find any. running memtest now and so far so good any ideas? its really odd. i am not on the computer now, i use it for school work and this is my gaming rig because i havent gotten my cooler for the vid card ect.

Specs:
OCZ Modstream 520W PSU
Opty 148
1 gig kingston value(havent put in my corsair xms)
400 gig hitachi deskstar SATA
dfi lanparty UT ultra-d(stock no mods)
C3D x800gto flashed to 16 pipes.
not that it would matter but i also have a samsung dvd cr-rw drive and a generic floppy

Thanks for help,
Luke

Sounds either like (an educated guess) dodgy RAM or dodgy power.

Can you run MEMTEST overnite and post the results.

What voltage is the RAM running at?

it is at stock 2.6v but i downed it to 2.5v because the first time i had these issues a very wise friend of mine suggested it, and it worked but the probs are back again. will run memtest and post results, the first time i ran it it did run all night with no problems. also i forgot to mention that when it crashes it will sometimes be done loading windows than blue screen of doom me. and i have tried taking out 1 stick of ram.

its blue screen of death. of death. not doom, death.

😛

as already mentioned, try the ram and psu.

will work on it some more w/ suggested replys and update, memtest running and has passed 100% once and is 85% through second test

Memtest results

Walltime 12:27:50
Cached 1023mb
Rsvdmem 276m
memmap e820-Std
cache on
ecc off
test std
pass 43
Errors 0
Ecc errs 0

So i guess memory is good how would i go about testing my psu

Try taking a look at the motherboard capacitors. Do any of them appear to be bulbous or leaking?

Try raising the CPU voltage a bit. If your problems go away, you know it must be the CPU or motherboard.

Those would be the first two things I'd do.

will try those today. Mobo looked in good condition when i got it and it was brand new when i got it but i will take a look when i get home in an hour or so

update:checked board out and all capacitors look good to me i will link some pictures in a second

Edit:lost my digital camera 🙁
