Screwed login in w2k installing wireless router > help please

I setup a netgear wireless router and nics for 3 systems at my aunts house so they could share thier dsl with no wiring cluttering the house.
Her laptop which she uses for work >was> setup for her work network. I changed the workgroup to the home net and when w2k asked to reboot I did and then we couldnt login with her login/pass. I think she's gonna kill me when I go back today and try to fix it, what should I do>?
Her IT guy at work setup the op sys and he's gone back east taking a class, man is she gonna be peod if she cant login at work, please help!

There is software for linux that will set the administrator password to anything of her choosing. I'll try and find it now. I have like 2 hours more to waste at work.

Any chance that her laptop is set to log into a domain. If so, try the advanced button and check local login (i think).

Got 2 of the computers up and on the net, the w2k machine is sporked till the admin gets in and changes the domain back, oh well.

Only problem is that the machine farthest away from the router (combo wireless and wired netgear) gets a real bad signal going through 5 walls, a fridge, oven, microwave bathroom mirror, sink.
I reckon we'll have to get a wireless hub midway to get a good signal, or is there another way>?

Thanks for your help.

You should be able to log on the notebook locally no matter what workgroup is assigned . Sounds like her notebook set to log on to a Domain or Active Directory structure at work. Just change the it from work group to local laptop and you should be able to log in. Once you log on locally as long as your aunts username has admin rights than you can change the workgroup setting back.

Other wise your going to need the Admin username and password.

There was no local login option, it was set to logon her work domain. I had changed it to get on her home net/dsl and when it asked to reboot I thought Id still be able to logon her same login but NOOO 😛 I was going to change it back to her work domain but couldnt even get back in to do it.

I assume the admin set it up so it logged onto her work domain only.
