Order # 161264376

RMA #: 25090271

So I ordered this MSI Z77A-G45 LGA 1155 Intel motherboard from Newegg to replace my broken Gigabyte mobo. At the time of the order, they were having a special where if you buy the mobo, newegg will give you 8gb of crucial ddr3 ram for free. A new mobo & free ram? what an awesome deal! Or so I thought.

I knew something wasn't right when I received the mobo. One, they sent me a freaking previously opened & used motherboard. The mobo packaging antistatic bag was all chewed up and there was thermal paste on the CPU bracket.

I told myself oh fuck it, if the mobo works it's no big deal. (FUCK YOU NEWEGG for sending me a USED mobo)

The problem isn't that I got a used mobo, the problem is that the mobo they sent me is DEFECTIVE! Obviously that's why someone returned the Piece of shit in the first place. Why would you fucking try to re-sell it and worse, listed as BRAND FUCKING NEW?

The motherboard would give me a "boot device error" message every fucking time i turn the PC on. No matter how many times I go into the bios and set the boot device to my primary SSD hard drive. (Yes I saved settings & reboot after every bios change)

I turned every single fucking boot devices off except for my SSD hard drive. It'll boot into windows afterward. But once I fucking turn the PC off and turn it back on again, it'll give me the same "boot devices error". I do not want to go into bios and set my hard drive as a boot device every time I turn my fucking PC off.

FUCK YOU for sending me a used & defective motherboard (and listing it as brand new)

The next set of problem. The RMA process.

I logged into the site and attempt to RMA this POS $134 motherboard. Well, the problem is that they'll let me return the motherboard but wouldn't let me return the "free" 8gb of ram. I am unable to select the ram to return it, the site wouldn't let me.

So instead of return the full amount of $137 (after tax), they subtracted $62 from my RMA and is only returning the difference because of the "free" 8gb of ram.

I don't want your piece of shit motherboard & ram. Why can't I return both and get my full refund? FUCKING motherfuckers!

To sum it up, you fucking piece of shit sent me a used & broken motherboard. Subtracted $62 from my RMA because you won't let me return the RAM. Tell me to ship the shit back at my own expense and then charge me $10 "restocking" fee. Restocking fee? you're going to relist this piece of shit motherboard as new and sell it to the next sucker?

We allow profanity.

We do not allow excessive profanity. We do not allow profanity in thread titles, subtitles or sigs titles either.

You have:

11 - fuck(ing) - counting title
5 - shits
1 - motherfucker

That's what we call excessive

Start another thread if you like because I am not going to clean this up.

I've probably spent about $5K at newegg in the last eight years. Not a lot I know, but I don't think I'm going to spend another dime there based on the horror stories of how much they've gone down hill.

What'd they say when you called them?

That doesn't sound fun.

I have to RMA a laptop for someone this week, and returning anything is a pain as it is.
I like Newegg, but shipping stuff back and hoping they process everything without a hitch isn't my idea of a good time.

While it's true that their quality and service has gone down some over the years, most of the time a phone call with a live person will resolve all issues.

Wow, just wow. I would have expected that they wouldn't even process the RMA, unless you included both the mobo and the "free" RAM, but I wouldn't have expected that they wouldn't even let you return it with the mobo.

What about the "free" games that come with video cards? If you ever have to RMA a video card, do they pull the same shennanigans on you, and then attempt to deduct the list price of the "free" games from your refund amount?

I remember when Newegg's free shipping was 3-day UPS Select, not Egg Saver.

I also remember when Newegg offered a 1-year warranty on most parts.

Now, you can't even get a refund on half of their parts categories, only a replacement, and only within 30 days.

So my refund is going to look like this...
$137 total original cost
-$62 for the "free" ram which they wouldn't let me return.
-$20 cost to ship the piece of shit back
-$10 of their "restocking" fee (as in they'll try to resell this defective motherboard by listing it as brand new and sell it to the next sucker).
----------------------------------------------------
$45 my refund amount.
