Screw eBooks and eBook Readers

I realize it will probably all become moot eventually as more and more magazines have .PDF versions for download, sites that mirror their articles, and phones with full internet capability and easily portable computers become more common. I also realize that the devices need not be mutually exclusive, but if you had to pick one, which would you prefer?

In the interim, I would love a reader that would download and store all of the science magazines I currently get hard copies of, and would automatically cross-reference related articles and allow searches of all of the articles as well.

I have no use for eBooks though. I remember enough about the books I read that when I need information I can usually remember which one it was in. I keep all of the books I buy unless they are complete and utter crap, and I can go back to them whenever I need them.

Which would you rather have? An eBook or eMagazine reader?

Neither, one page at a time isn't good enough.

Can you read 2 pages at the same time or something? ebook, physical book, magazine whatever. I'm fine with it because I can only honestly read one word at a time.

Why not have a 25character LCD for browsing the web then. You can just hit next a bajillion times. Some folks prefer not having to interact with the media as often, and 2 pages would be better than one in that regards. Etc.

Magazines can be read with minimal electricity (light source). They can also be read during take-off and landing.

I rarely read magazines. eReader + PDA = excellent way to read books while laying in bed. No need to hold the book open, no need to have a light on. My only complaint is that ebooks should be cheaper.
