i bought a screen from edwooten here, and it worked fine.
it was a dell rackmount.

i used to have a hp, but when i connect to the shuttle, nothing happens.

thought the vid card was fried, changed back to old screen, no probs, went back to new dell

nada, nothing. i used a different analog cable, nothing. i saw something interesting with the dell cable

most cables look like this

......
.....
.....

(pins 15 of them use ur imagination)

but the dell one was missing 2

... .
.. ..
.....

on both ends... but since i tried both analog cables... dunno....

the old hp screen was tha 1024 by 768 at 60 hz which is well in the dell's range.. so what could be wrong?

i dont want to deal with returning it or getting a replacement from edwooten that would be a last resort.

thank you all please help

cables are ok, I've seen that b4 too.

make sure you've got new drivers for that monitor. shouldn't be too hard to come by www.dell.com

hopefully that'll fix it, next step is RMA with dell if poss, then go to seller

it's common to have msising pins, since some are redundant or not used.

what do you mean by "nothign happens" and do you ahve another puter to test hte screen on?

i plug in the new screen, nothing happens no green led, nothing, the screen remains in standy mode
so i tried my old screen, plugged it in and ta daa it worked.

even tried the new screen on a nother computer, alas, no avail... so i think its def the new screen..

hope i can deal w/this b4 school... sept 4 is so so close

Contact Dell for a replacement...but if you bought it from someone here, did they warrant it to not arrive DOA? Try using the power cable from the old monitor on the new one instead of the new one's power cable...maybe it's not getting sufficient power?
