screen tearing

I have a problem of screen tairing when i turn in d3d games,i've tried refresh rate and res changing and video card tweaking but with no luck,has anybody got any ideas.

make sure vsync is enabled. should be a driver option.

what videocard and drivers are you using?

I've got the same problem with a GF4-4200 on WinXP. Where is the vsync option located? I remember reading about it before but I never found it.

I had a problem like this with my Sapphire 8500LE when I installed the Sapphire drivers from the CD with the card. I fixed it by uninstalling the orifinal drivers and loading the newest from the ATI set (3.2). Loading the ATI drivers over the Sapphire drivers didn't work, they had to be uninstalled first.

I dunno, I'm an ATI man...err...beast.

Should be in there somewhere. Make sure you have the latest drivers.

If all else fails, download PowerStrip and configure under Performance Options to have Vsync enabled.

Naturally, try enabling it in the game first.

It should be in your video card properties under the Direct3D tab for D3D games, and under the OpenGL tab for OpenGL games.
