Screen tearing in eyefinity for DP monitor

Since the start of this setup a month or so ago I've noticed screen tearing on one LCD. At first I thought it was a monitor issue but other recent problems forced me to switch which lcd was hooked up via DP and now I'm noticing the problem on that monitor. I did some web searching and found out that this seems to happen with the 6 series cards, eyefinity, and using a mix of DP and DVI monitors.

I'm curious if anyone else here has had this happen and if so, did it work to convert all the monitors to DP? Since my LCD's are all DP native I believe I just need to pick up a minidp splitter and 2 more cables and I could go all DP. I just don't want to go to that expense if its going to result in all 3 with tearing... Or what about converting the one displayport to dvi, would that work or since it's being fed by dp would it just be the same?

Any ideas?

This is why I went back to the 5 series and eventually nvidia sli. I just couldn't stand the screen tearing on one of the screens. I don't know about the dp splitter idea but I don't think trying to go all dvi would work. I had mine set up with 2 dvi and one dp to vga adapter and one of the two sets of inputs would always tear. Honestly if ati is going to screw up like this they should at least let you plug the 3rd input into the 2nd card so at least you could get rid of the problem if you went to the expense of crossfire.

Interesting, so you know of the issue as well. My plans were to add a second 6970 in the nearish future so I can push some extra frames but with the tearing I'm not sure. Honestly I have not really noticed it in games since I've gotten used to tearing of some sort occurring as I've never had 120hz monitors. However, the tearing during video playback is what I'm seeing now.
 
Yeah gaming is not too bad as long as its not your center monitor and you don't look for it you won't notice it that often. Video playing back is the worst with a tear rolling up your screen every few seconds. It is also noticeable when you move a window around with your mouse. I just hope they fix the problem on the 7 series cards.
