I just upgraded one of my machines from a geforce 2 gts to a geforce 3 original.

Xp1700+
Epox 8kha+
Win2k

Before I took out my old card I booted in safe mode and uninstalled the drivers from add/remove programs and the video card from device manager. I then swapped cards and booted back up. Win2k found the new card, I cancelled the installation then installed the 28.32 drivers that I downloaded.

Now for some reason when playing games like Everquest and Wolfenstein when I try to change from 640 x 480 to any other resolution, the screen size shrinks and doesnt fill up the whole monitor. It shrinks beyond what the monitor will allow adjustments for.

Where did I go wrong?

Thanks

I've had to resize my monitor screen at different resolutions after installing a video card. The screen would be full size at 640x480, then after increasing the resolution to 800x600 the screen would shrink down some and be off center. So I use the monitor controls to lengthen and widen and recenter the screen to my liking. After doing this once for each new resolution I wanted to use, my Optiquest monitor would remember the size of the screen when changing resolutions. I don't know if this is a video card problem or a monitor problem. I've install a few video cards and this problem has happen at least twice to me. First time was with a 2mb video card, years ago.

This is normal. For monitors with digital controls, it'll remember all yoru resolution settings. For older analog control monitors, you have to set this every time you switch resolutions.
