at home, cable, my highest was around 1.5MB/sec (a few times actually)...i took a screen shot too 😛 i normally get from 100-350kb/sec depending on the server.

at my dorm, the highest i've gotten was 5.0MB/sec :Q :Q 😀 😎

check this out and weep. I was downloading from an FTP server and streaming video at the same time and this was 8:00PM.. @HOME rock..

I seriously dought all of you guys are getting these speeds, and I REALLY dought that you would be downloading WAREZ at 550kb/sec!

Also how is it possible to get over a mega byte on cable? It's only 10mbps ethernet, so that would limit it to 1000Kbytes/sec!

Jbush, 10 Mbps = 1.25 MB

They are 8 bits to a byte

since it is a 10 mega BIT per sec

we can do some simple math.

10/8 = 1 1/4

or 1.25 MB

Well, here is mine.. not all that impressive at this time of night, I'll have to do it later tonight or in the morning and show you what real speed is like 🙂

My l33t speed

Also, here is my HONEST MSN bandwidth test.. I'm on a very fast network.. so, that would explain most of these speeds.

MSN Speed Test

Like I said, I'll post again later at low traffic times. But this is pretty good for high traffic primetime 😀

The fastest download I ever had was 1.7MB/s back when I was on cable in Indiana, I was one of the first people on the network. As for jsbush's question as to how you can get over 10mbit/s, I don't know about all cable modems but the RCA cable modem I had was capable of 38mbit/s downstream and it made a 100mbit connection to my network card.
