As soon as my screen saver goes on after a short time it locks up on the screen, has anyone had this problem....and if so any fix me up appreciated.......it can lock on the screen in a matter of minutes and the system has to be soft booted in order to get it going again.

What screensaver? Have you tried other screensavers (like blank screen) with the same results?

The typical windows screensavers that come with the operating system, some may have come from installing Microsoft Plus also, but I have tried a few of them and they lock up the screen after a few minutes. This morning I put it on no screensaver and shut off the monitor (to prevent screen burn) and kept the system running in alittle while I am going to call back home and have someone turn on the monitor to see if the mouse is stuck, I suspect it will be fine and the screensavers will be the culprit

You can always go into add remove programs and uninstall the screen savers then reinstall them.

The default time for power saving to cut in is either 5 or 10 minutes after the default time for the screensaver (can't remember which). Try turning off all the power saving options; the number of times I've seen the suspend mode fail to come back to life is about the number of times I've tried it, so that may well be the problem.

Don't know about the power settings but I believe I switched it to "always on" and then all the other settings under it are on "off" .....well...........had someone at home turn the monitor back on and the mouse was not locked up so I assume it was the screen saver that was making this happen NOW to find out WHY?
