I got an Olevia 27 inch LCD TV not too long ago that I use as my main montior. I have 3 pc's hooked up to it through a kvm using the analog connection. The best looking resolution for the monitor is 1280 x 720 (16 x 9). I recently upgraded 2 of the 3 pc's to shuttle's with integrated video. The Shuttle's video card can only handle 1024 x 768 or 1024 x 1280 max. Everything looks stretched. Is there a utility that can "change" the resolution for me? I have already downloaded the newest drivers for the onboard video cards. I know I could add on an agp or pci graphics card.. but I am just using the shuttles' for dvd burning and don't want to spend any more money on them. Anyone? Anyone?

Thanks ...

I tried that.. couldn't find anywhere to adjust the actual resolution beyond the onboard graphics cards' resolution..

What kind of video is in the Shuttle systems? Seriously, I haven't seen a video card in the last 5-6 years that wouldn't do 1600x1200.

I don't know, but it could be one of those that uses the system memory in some amount that could be set in the BIOS. If he is able to increase the amount, then it will do higher resolutions. However, if I understand correctly, the issue is not with being unable to reach a higher resolution, but being unable to get a resolution in the correct aspect ratio. Powerstrip is usually quite capable of doing that; it's been a few years since I had to use it, but the option is there, if only buried a bit.

If it can do 1280x1024, it can do 1280x720. You should be be able to do custom resoulutions in the advanced display settings and then the video card's tab. Also, if you uninstall the video card drivers, 1280x720 is a resoulution that windows allows you to choose. The card drivers proably changed what resoulutions you can use though. If you go to the website of your lcd, there should be drivers for the monitor, which will let you run at that resoulution.
