as the drive detection routine runs press F8 several times. May miss it at first but you'll get it. Then select safe mode from the menu.

okay, i push f8 and selected safe mode. now all i am getting is a row of words. the computer does not load all the way.

Do you have another video card laying around?
If yes, remove the disabled card and install the other even if its a pci card. Just a work around anyway.
then boot into windows dont let windows install new drivers for the replacement card. then remove the affected card form device manager. shutdown and reinstall affected card.

Go into the bios to enable it. Press delete after you turn the pc on to get into the bios. After you get back into windows you must format your drive. Search google for instructions.

Pretty sure the videocard was disabled in device manager 😉
could be wrong

If you format you will lose everything on the harddrive.

and a question did you disable the videocard in device manager?

If you disabled it in device manager when you get the black screen turn your monitor off and back on. It should be using the XP driver (you can't actually disable the card). Go to device manager and enable the device. Restart and everything should be ok.

If you disabled in bios just look around for agp and enable.

format

when i try to go into safe mode it give me a list of this... multi()disk()rdisk ()partiton(1)/window/system32/driver... and so on... awhole list of it.

fredtam is correct in saying that. Windows will default to a generic vga driver if the videocard is disabled.

I still think it can be fixed without a format tho. System Restore etc..

the format was a joke. It seemed to be a fair punishment for him screing with setting just to see what happens. Plus it would teach him a bunch of new things. Like don't format your fcking PC just beacause somebody told you to. 😉
