Screen going Blank with 9800 Pro

All,

I have a Velocity Micro system, 3.2 Ghz P4, 1 GB Corsair RAM, 9800 256 MB Pro card. This system has an Intel mboard.

When gaming, the screen will go black for a few seconds and then come back on. If I was working when this happened, I could care less, but not during Call of Duty!! This happens with all games. I have a 20" Dell flatscreen monitor. I was using the 3.6 Catalyst drivers and updated them to 3.9. No differences. I am running XP Home. Anyone have any ideas what is going on here????

Does this happen when changing screens (ie loading a level or menu) or does this happen in the middle of battle?

It happens in the middle of battle. It happens in Dungeon Seige, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, etc. But only in games which leads me to beleive that it has to be card or driver related, but no idea what the problem is.

Same video card. happens to me also. i have to reboot. no answer so far...

I've got a Sapphire 9100 that does the same thing, cept mine can occur even when I'm surfing or doing nothing. Maybe it is an ATI thing
