Hi,

I have an ADI 6P 19" monitor together with a TNT2 M64. I've noticed that my screen gets blur when I up the res to 1280x1024 and above. No matter what refresh rate or color depth I'm in. This happens in Win9x/2k and Linux as well. I'm using the latest stable Detanator drivers from nVidia.

Is there something wrong with my monitor?

TIA.

no, the 2d on nvidia cards aint to good. I have Radeon, way better 2d than what Geforce cards have.

Aww man... It can't be that bad rite? It's only 1280x1024! It's not like an ultra high res like 1600x1200!! What about the GeForce? Is it still that bad?

rickn is right. 1280x1024 and above, the 2D quality of nvidia cards start to deteriorate... even for the GeForce. The only way to get clear 2D is to do the following MOD.

Hmm... Ok. At least I'm sure that it isn't my monitor's fault ;) Thanks for the tip.

I got the link to the RFI MOD from some of the other threads. Can't take credit for it...

The mod is very easy. I found it easier than installing a mod chip in a PSX. It says in the guide you can see if first removing the capacitors and leaving the inductors untouched will improve quality. The soldering is the tricky part. Good luck :)

Hmm... The mod seems a bit scary to me coz I haven't done anything like that b4. Has anyone tried that MOD b4 with successful results?

Some people on this board have done this successfully, and some crazy (rich?!) buy did it with his Ultra!!! =)

badguy: what are you comparing to? I heard the Elsa is decent, but not super great.

My 2D image quality went way up after I switched to BNC monitor cables instead of the standard HD15.

Doesn't totally fix the problem, but its better.
