I am having a most peculiar problem...my monitor sometimes flicker a bluish tint all over....lately its been flickering and permanently becoming a blueish tint...(like right now) i can temporary fix this problem by unplugging the monitor from my video card and then replugging it....sometimes wiggling it seems to fix the problem also. This problem is not fixed by messing with any settings on the monitor itself nor does it fix itself by turning off the monitor and turning it back on. I have a great dilemma as to if this is a monitor or a video card problem. I really don't know if I can handle sending this 19 inch monitor to a repair facility unless im pretty sure its the monitor. Can anyone please help me.

Connection problem, most likely a monitor cable. Or something's wrong inside the monitor... play with the connection to the PC, when that end of the cable gets bent too mch things inside can get loose. Maybe you'll find a position that lets it work right. If not, probably RMA time.

There's a slight chace the card has problems at the 15pin connecter too, though.. so if you can put the monitor on another system or try a cheapy monitor. It's almost always the monitor though. Especially if you can hold the connecter on the end of the monitor cable still and wiggle the where the cable goes into it, and see the flicker.

whats got me worried is I brought in my other computer into my room and hooked up pc to my 19inch viewsonic...and it doesnt seem to be showing that problem... is there also anything in relation to the monitor driver for windows? Also could video card drivers effect this at all? Doesnt seem like a problem but i am using the latest beta drivers for my radeon... but then again i hooked up my 2nd pc to the samsung and its using an old ati 8mb... so probably not.

If wiggling helps you know what the problem is. Drivers will cause other display corruption issues, not just colors going in/out. Monitor drivers aren't realyl drivers, they set what resolutions can be used (just .inf files). Some load color options, but they don't do anything active and wouldn't be able to go in and out either.

And, there's a slight chance it's your card... but I think it's the monitor. Wiggle cables, play around. Push and prod at all joints.

Like he said, it's either the monitor or the cable. In my experience the monitor needs to be replaced.

Well, you can replace the cable end.. or the entire cable. Replacing the whole cable required pulling the back off of the monitor if it doesn't screw to the monitor's back, replacing the end means lots of wires to play with.
