Have an mpg and for some reason PowerDVD won't image capture any frames at all. Any other tools out there ? VCDCutter also fails.

It's not really a tool separate from the player... just hit the camera icon in the player itself... not outputting anything and it doesn't output as wallpaper (another option) either. I've used it successfully in the past, but not working now with this vid. Just tried another mpg and it worked. Just need an alternative.

EDIT>> Crap, sorry their divx AVIs.

Sometimes it helps to turn off hardware acceleration, then do print screen.

try BSplayer, I always had good luck with it. Print screen always left a black blank where there was supposed to be video, at least for me. If not, maybe try VirtualDUB or something of the sort. hit up the forums at afterdawn.com for more help.

Hardware Acceleration is already off. Print Screen / ALT-Print Screen captures nothing but a blank screen (black)... because this is a video capture, not a screen capture.

EDIT>> Also just tried converting from divx to mpg just now using TMPGenc and it wouldn't even convert... no error.. just said it cannot be done. :|
