Screen blacking out in MGS4?

Just bought MSG4, installed the game with patch, made sure my PS3 firmware was up-to-date through settings. I'm now having a problem in all games and the PS3 interface where the screen will black out for 1-2 seconds intermittently, then the display will reappear. When the screen blacks out, the audio continues.

I've tried to replace the hdmi cable, switch the hdmi port on my TV (this helped a bit), but the issue still occurs. This is extremely annoying... any advice?

My setup:

Samsung LN-S4096D
Harman Kardon AVR 347 (PS3 HDMI is routed through the AVR's switch)
PS3

I'm not sure, as I'm new to the PS3 (bought June 13), but I think I remember PS3s having some HDMI handshaking issues.

I wonder if it could be the HK receiver? I have a PS3 connected via HDMI to a Samsung TV and I don't have any handshaking issues.

I have a Samsung plasma with a PS3 hooked up through HDMI. Mine will blue out for 1-2 secs whenever exiting a game or movie.

Thanks for the response. To clarify, this is not the blue/black screen issue when entering exiting a game. The screen blacks out intermittently (every 20 seconds or so, but not consistant) in games and just on the regular screen. I read that the PS3 can cause HDMI "handshake" errors on certain TVs, but none of the suggested fixes have worked. Crappy PS3 - this doesn't happen on any other component I have hooked up via hdmi.

As I said above, it could be a bandwidth issue. What is the output resolution of the PS3? What is the make/model of your TV? Are you using an audio/video receiver? If so, what is the make/model.

Someone here may be able to help, but you have to provide a little more information about your setup in your posts.
