Scour coming back?

I read a few days ago that Scour was coming back...except they were going to start charging. Anyone else hear this? Just saw the headline on yahoo a few days ago.

Not surprised. They tested the waters by leaving, when they saw that people still wanted them and CuteMX was a joke, they realized there is potential. Following Napster's downhill path quite well, I must say.

CuteMX probably wouldn't be in the sad state it's in if it didn't shut down for over half a year. I'd be willing to pay a $1 a month fee to scour and napster if they would promise to deliver high quality stuff.

It won't be scour guys, some company bought it, they are incorporating digital rights stuff and probably a bunch of spyware to boot. I predict a quick painfull death for the new exchange...

Why aren't there any napigator-like programs for scour so other people could run their own server🙂 I guess $1 a month would be reasonable, but only if they improved their servers(had problems connecting sometimes) and enough people shared stuff(maybe don't charge people if they share stuff and poeple download a certain amount from them or somethin).

How DID Napster make money in the past?

I've never used tha actual Napster program, only Gnapster and such so I don't know if there was advertising or anything...

Napster should put some damn banner ads in their software. I wouldn't mind them, and that could probably keep them from charging the $5/month that they plan to...

Probably because Scour came out a long while after Napster did, and no one has made (or figured out how to make) private servers. When they do, A Scour napigator-type program could be possible, but since scour was shut down, chances of that happening are much lower.
