Can I buy stock after hours? If the stock is at $1.00 after hours and goes to $2 at opening bell, do I get charged $2?

I think that would be why you put a limit on the order so you do not pay over 1.xx for it...

Why don't you look up their website? Why don't you call them? Why don't you read through the information they sent you in the mail? Why don't you contact THEM because WE are not THEM.

You can bet you won't pay the amount it closed at, but you can do it.

Be real careful with before/after hours trading. Markets are thin and bid/ask can go totally goofy.

If you brokerage house isn't handling the trades internally (ie. handing them off to someone else, who could give a crap about when you trade is executed) you order could, and likely will, be filled after that houses orders...and by then the bid/ask can have changed drastically.

I was once placing after hours orders just under the ask price for a thinly traded, Chilean bank stock. As I placed and removed the orders, the bid price changed to reflect MY bids.... I was the market maker!

This is why Scottrade, at least the last time I checked, requires limit orders for pre/post-market trading.

Maybe you should stop asking dumb questions and actually do a little research yourself? I'm putting in about as much effort as you are.

I wonder who's going to be a lifer first Nik - me or you. Am I coming to visit next month?

Fuck yeah you are! As long as you don't mind the crummy weather, it should be fun. I'm all for going to Todai again :D
