Scottrade gave me a 22 cents bonus

I mailed in a $2000 check to open an investment account at scottrade, today I check my account balance, it shows $2000.22. 😕 Is that the interest or just a typo on the part of clerk?

Are you serious? The interest comes from the fct that you have a cash balance in your account. They pay interest on it because they are making money on YOUR money.

Your money is most likely kept in a money market fund that earns you interest. Most brokerages do this.
