Scorpion King was funny ... What did you think?

I saw it in French (was in a very french area this weekend, no english ones playing), but it was still hilarious. I can imagine it would have been even funnier in English. What did you guys think of it?

I think the lack of response over a 1/2 hour period is a good sign that maybe Hollywood can't pour out crap and expect us to watch it.
Or maybe everyone is too damn lazy.
Anyway, I didn't see it, I'm trying to not support movies that don't pertain to anything intellectual.

It doesn't have to be INTELLECTUAL to be a good movie. I just can't see The Rock in movies and think "wow, what a good movie!". It just seems funny, seeing that big oaf meddle about.

I think Arnold made a better big dumb guy, and he made better movies (so far), like Terminator.. hehe. Damn, what hapened to movies like that. 🙁

BTW, I agree about the lack of responses thing. 😛

I think we'll have to see what the numbers were for this weekend. 🙂 I don't doubt it was number one.

Edit: It was number one at $36 million. I would venture to guess that a few people saw it. 😉

i thoroughly enjoyed the movie. i'm not a rock fan but i didnt expect the movie to be super serious and i got what i expected. i really liked it better than blade 2. not once did i think scorpion king drag, but in blade 2, i found myself wanting to sleep during a lot of parts in the movie. blade 2 failed to impress.

Scorpion King better then Blade 2....hell no. I had a gut feeling that going into the movie that it was going to be bad and I was right. Seems more like a Mummy 2 knock off with just more scenes of The Rock in it. There were a few lines I found to be funny but most of them were really cheezy and really really old.

**possible spoiler****

Ie. "I am not going to kill you...............yet." That line and variations seemed like it was said 10+ times

Also did anyone notice when the....big black dude *I dont know the characters name* tossed The Rock the sword at the end notice his face? That was by far the most....interesting grimace I've ever seen. Sort of a mixed constipation/retarded/anger look all in one.

Overall the movie did not compare to Blade 2 IMO. Blade 2 had much better acting, plot, fight scenes, music etc. On the positive note Kelly Hu loooked damn good in the movie and can't wait to see more of her.

<<Blade 2 had much better acting, plot, ...>>

BUWAHAHAHA - Did someone accuse a Wesley Snipes movie of having any acting and plot??

Heh heh...so I'm guessing you spent the weekend at the opera? 🙂

I thought it was ok. I certainly didn't dislike it. I thought it could use some work in areas, but overall it was good. I would have liked to see them blend it into the Mummy Returns a bit more and have some stuff about how he became evil and such though. That's what I wanted to see.

Scorpion King = Mummy 3....................okay now that we've gotten that out of the way, haha overall it was pretty entertaining. I mean, it had alot of good action moments, some good jokes here and there, and of course, some hot women..........all in all.......a typical hollywood blockbuster and I was satisfied.

I just seen it today, it was OK, not Bad, not Great, overall about a normal hollywood movie, but it had 0 things in it like the mummy movies, i thought at least it would end like it should in the mummy where they were all fighting and stuff.

And that comment about arnold playing a big dumb guy, Conan was not dumb, maybe you should watch it again.

I laughed... I don't know if I was laughing at the right things, but I laughed. I really loved the stupid look on the Rocks face when he was questioning the sorceress about her powers at the end of the movie. 😉 I tried my hardest to hate the movie since I was dragged there by my wrestling loving friends, but with the non-stop heckles in my local theather, I couldn't help but have fun. The only things that were missing were a people's elbow and a rock bottom.

There were a few funny moments but the dialogue and plot was funny in a bad way (as in it sucked so bad I was laughing at how cheezy it was). Only redeeming quality of the movie was seeing Kelly Hu wearing skimpy outfits.
