Just got a set of 15" Honda OEM alloy wheels from 97-01 CRV with brand new Michelin tires for $220

I should be able to sell the steelies that are on there along with the old tires for close to that much and make it a free upgrade 😀

phone doesn't do well in low light...

i had to change them out with the honda scissor jack cause my 2.5 ton hydraulic doesn't go high enough and i could find anything that i trusted to use as a block

Definite score found. Congrats OP, my dad was able to do something very similar for our '95 Safari at the beginning of this winter.

$220 for a set of 15" American Racing rims with like 90% new snows on it.

now i should be good to go on tires for a while...the cheaper i can make it to run this car the better, this will probably be my DD for the next couple years while i finish up the Z

the dude i bought them from mentioned that i should do the timing belt on these motors at 105K, this is news to me...it's a 1998 with a 2.0 4 banger

Timing belts are srs business. Looked up the service manual for your car, and regardless of service schedule, the timing belt should be replaced at 105k as the guy you bought the wheels from stated.

Pro-tip: Service manuals are awesome for doing your own maintenance on a car. I use mine all the time to see how something is put together or just to get a better idea of where my car's at mechanically.

yeah, i'm pretty sure this is an interference engine...a timing belt break or even a skip would be bad news

thx for the link to the manual...i've never done a timing belt on an inline 4 before, but it looks like it should be a fairly easy job...at least compared to the 300ZX 😛

Yeah if you're really stuck there's a dude out there who goes by EricTheCarGuy who does an amazing job of explaining how to do anything on cars. He has an extensive Youtube channel and also sells DVDs which cover bolt-by-bolt repairs. There's two DVD's out right now on Accord timing belts and Integra clutches, respectively.

looks like the accord has a different motor, although i dunno just how different is is...i'm not a honda guy, more old school nissan and chevy

oh well, i looked through the service manual, doesn't seem that difficult, really

i suppose i'll also do the water pump and tensioner pulley while i'm there

any seals that i should replace while i'm at it?

I would replace any seals you opened while getting at the timing belt, and probably the valve cover while you're at it. Preventing oil leaks makes your life easier down the road.
