:( Scooter got hit by a car...

Girlfriend just called me all frantic and said theyre on the way to the vet...a neighbor found their kitty Scooter limping around panting really hard, they think he got hit by a car 🙁 I hope hes going to be ok...I love this kitty and hes the coolest animal friend i ever had 🙁 So please wish him luck...

My last cat got hit by a car, it was going to be $1100 in vet bills or so, so we put her down. 🙁 The very sad part was that my mom was driving the car that hit her. 🙁 I hope scooter is going to be ok.

how do people hit cats ?? I mean usually the cat is smart enough not to pull a frogger move

Yeh pretty odd. He dosent ever leave the complex and everyone knows theres 5-6 cats always roaming around so theyre usualy careful. But then again scooter isnt the brightest cat, he tends to run into walls and stuff when he gets really hyper 🙂

Well my gf called again, they just got to the vet and checked in scooter. She told me the poor kittys back legs were flopping around when they picked him up, that his eyes were pale, and that he lost control of his bowels 🙁 Hope hes ok

Had the same happen to my cat, Lucy-fur.

She had a broken pelvis and ribs. The ribs healed themselves, but the ball on the top of her femur had to be removed. Cost me well in excess of 1100$ CND. Hope you have credit.

BTW, worth every penny.
 
Well, he has a broken pelvis and possibly a ruptured bladder. Hes staying over at the emergency vet office tonight, and tomorrow morning theyre going to take him to another vet (this one is emergency after hours clinic only). Bill for tonight was $800ish they say hes going to be alright.

Weird thing was they found his saftey collar i just bought him in the middle of the street (dunno how it got all the way there?)

But yeah, i keep you guys updated if ya wanna know...

Sounds like Scooter is gonna be alright. Whew.

For this reason, our cats are indoor cats.

I honestly don't know how cat owners can let their cats outside. It would drive me nuts, wondering if they were safe.

In a rural setting maybe I could live with it. But no way where there are lots of streets/cars.

Unusual swelling in the area, oozing sores, tenderness of the flesh, bloated appearance in the stomach, refusal to eat, bloody stool ...

I'm engaged to a future vet. 😛

Girlfriend called me around 6:30 and said scooter's commin home!

This morning they took him over to a regular vet office and they took care of him and hes comming home right about now. They say since hes young (around a year old) hes going to heal up fast...downside is he is going to be living in a cage sort of dealy for 2 months. Also now scooter and his older twin virgil will be strictly indoor kittys.

Scooter has been an outdoor cat since he was born, my girlfriends brother found him and brought him home. He found him outside of some party where people were smoking weed and atempting to get scooter high...eh sick people. So he put him in his sweater when nobody was looking and took him to saftey! I remember when i first saw scooter he had colored marks on his belly from people drawing on him and he had a kinky/short tail possibly from a birth defect....this kitty has come a long way and hopefully hell be back to his funny self soon 🙂
 
Rest in peace Scooter.

Scooter came home and was doing fine for a while until he started having breathing problems. His lungs began to fill up with fluids, and he went back to the vet yesterday. Scooter passed away earlyer today 🙁

Rest in peace Scooter. You'll always be loved :heart: 🙁
