Scooter changes lane in front of accelerating car, then hits his brakes

Difference in speed is too high for the guy driving the car. Like a 30mph difference zooming past them in the right lane. Pretty classy.

Or how about if you are going to move into the fast lane to pass someone, checking to see if there are other cars there before you jump into the lane.

It doesn't matter how fast the car was going. The guy on the scooter is a dumbass. And what the hell did he put his brakes on for? Was he brake checking? Guy must be brilliant.

Sequence of events:

1) Change lanes without looking
2) Slam on brakes
3) Look behind you to see if there is anyone coming
4) CRASH!

LOL

Yeah, scooter dude is a tard

Guy in the car was "overtaking" kind of fast after a slowdown due to an accident.
It's hard to tell if the guy is speeding without seeing any speed gauge.

Literally every day, I need to deal with fuckheads who don't now how to accelerate properly. The merge onto the biggest highway in my city where the speed limit is about 70mph (our signs are posted in km/h) is plagued with retards who take half a minute to get up to the speed limit. It's entirely possible that the car in this video looks like he's speeding, but he's really just accelerating up to the speed limit faster than anyone else.

That happens to me on a lot of roads, not just highways. Speed limit is ~40mph, I get to that speed in about 3 seconds, then I look back and see almost every other car is waaaaay behind me. I'm not speeding! I'm going the freakin speed limit and I'm going way faster than everyone else.

Exactly this. If you are changing lanes fucking check BEFORE you change lanes, not after... And who put's their brakes on on a freeway? Unless there is an accident ahead there's never a reason for hard breaking.

Also not all highways consider the left most lane the "passing lane." There are simply more lanes to reduce traffic congestion.

I guess everyone else is doing it wrong.

Good for you!

Actually I think it's true; everyone else *is* doing it wrong. It's just a fact of life that most people are terrible drivers. Most people I see merging onto a 100kph highway do like 40kph up the ramp, wait till the end of the merge lane, then try to squeeze in still doing 40kph. WTF? The point of the ramp is to get up to the appropriate speed, yet 90% of drivers fail to grasp this concept.

I know exactly what he's talking about. It's funny how people can confuse acceleration or a loud engine with speeding. Just because you're at eleventy billion RPM doesn't mean you're speeding.

Though, for better or worse, you could still get in trouble for "exhibition of speed" or "speed racing" depending on your locale.

So its HK, where they drive on the left. Interesting that in mainland China they drive on the right. Wonder how many accidents happen due to people forgetting where they are?

I notice this in my college town.

It pisses me off when I get stuck behind a line of cars because I know Gainesville drivers take about a minute to reach the speed limit, and sometimes they don't even bother to reach the limit. Whenever I'm first in line at a stop light, I end up far ahead of everyone else and I'm driving a truck that accelerates like molasses.

Down in Miami its a totally different story, where the speed "limit" is more of a speed "suggestion". If you aren't flooring it when the light turns green you're slowing someone down.

You're supposed to keep enough distance between you and the car in front of you so you can stop, but if something comes onto your lane from the side and you can't stop in time, you are not legally at fault. Someone could spin out and spin onto your lane 2 feet in front of you and there would be absolutely nothing you can do.

I'm way ahead of everyone and I drive a Toyota Corolla. I don't even need to say what year it is since it's basically the slowest car in the world every year it has been in production 😀

I loled. That's one of my biggest pet peeves driving. When people pull in front of you, then slow down for no reason. What's up with that? 🙄

I don't see why dash cams don't come standard in automobiles. Insurance is a billion dollar industry.

What's the cost of a camera/memory card? $100 tops? Mass production could drive that price down even further.

It sure makes a lot more sense than taking a drivers' word against anothers'.

It would also be nice to post some of the shit we see on a daily basis. Today I was on several different roads where people were driving 20km/h under the speed limit. Not just 1 car but like an entire wave of cars driving super slow. How the hell does that even happen? I would need a video just to prove that it actually does happen.

its probably getting there, sd video doesn't take much space, a looping recording of 4gb should be enough for most people. i guess its just the ugliness of the ciggie cord that might put some off, magic price is probably around 50 bucks.
