Scientology isn't even its own religion

I was in Hollywood this past week and I noticed a big scientology building. Since i've kept seeing these places pop up recently I did a little research on this "religion" when I was bored. And you know what I found...... IT'S FREAKING HINDUISM. That's it. Scientology just took Hinduism and changed the names around. Damn money-laundering hacks.

BTW Cali was very nice.

Dude... read "karma". Want me to spout off hinduism? People are just part of the great entity known as "Brahman". Depending on how one acts in one life, he is reborn in his next life accordingly.. if you are good, you're reborn into a higher caste/social standing/better life. If you are bad, you are reborn into a lower caste.. this cycle continues indefinitely. The goal of life is to attain the highest level of enlightenment and thus, break the cycle of death/rebirth and rejoin the great spirit... sound a tad familiar? Of course, hiduisms been around for ohh... 3000 or 4000 years.

True but the key word is "built on". True they share a lot of the same beliefs but at least they changed and expanded from there. Scientology looks like the average high school paper... someone ripped it off the internet and changed some of the words around.

The Church of Scientology is a vicious and dangerous cult that masquerades as a religion. Its purpose is to make money. It practices a variety of mind-control techniques on people lured into its midst to gain control over their money and their lives. Its aim is to take from them every penny that they have and can ever borrow and to also enslave them to further its wicked ends.
It was started in the 1950s by a science fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard in fulfilment to his declared aim to start a religion to make money. It is an offshoot to a method of psychotherapy he concocted from various sources which he named "Dianetics". Dianetics is a form of regression therapy. It was then further expanded to appear more like a religion in order to enjoy tax benefits. He called it "Scientology".

Scientology is a confused concoction of crackpot, dangerously applied psychotherapy, oversimplified, idiotic and inapplicable rules and ideas and science-fiction drivel that is presented to its members (at the "advanced" levels) as profound spiritual truth.
