Schwing!!! 70 inch 1080p

:Q<----click

Numerous television manufacturers are coming out with 1080p-resolution HDTVs in 2005, and JVC is no exception. 1080p, called True HDTV by many manufacturers, uses an array of 1,920x1,080 pixels, enough to reproduce every bit of detail from 1080i high-def sources. The 70-inch HD-70FH96 utilizes JVC's HD-ILA display technology, which appeared first in the HD-52525 and is a variant of LCoS. It avoids the rainbow effect of DLP and visible pixel structure of LCD, but its ability to reproduce dark blacks has been limited. The set will be available in the fall of 2005.

* 70-inch rear-projection HDTV
* HD-ILA display technology
* 1,920x1,080 resolution

The price: TBD

The prospects: 1080p is definitely the most popular buzzword at the show this year, and this set, like its predecessor, should compete well against DLP and LCD 1080p sets introduced this year.

sadly, I have no $$ right now...:brokenheart:

Sure ... they announce this AFTER I just bought a 720P LCD panel .....
Ohh well ... it's not like my video card could handle 1900x1080 in games (9700 Pro)

amazing shots :Q

to bad that there is almost no HD content in Europe, everyone seems to be happy with SD so there is not much progress here 🙁

That's why I hang out here so much. Over here I have a pretty darn nice HT. Over there it's laughable. 🙁

1080p units aren't really a secret. There's a whole slew of them coming later this year. But, there's nothing to watch in 1080p. It's presumed that Blu-Ray and or HD-DVD might be capable of storing 1080p. but it's not a given at this point. Over the air 1080p is just not possible right now. Plus, unless you're within 10 feet of something this big, people question whether or not you'll actually see a difference between 1080p and 720p. I would think for computer hookup, it would be nice. About the same for HD content. I just don't see 1080p programming coming any time soon.

Speaking of HDTVs, I picked up a 50" DLP a couple weeks ago. I love watching stuff on this set. Once you get HD, you will watch some pretty stupid/lame stuff on TV just because it's in HD. I didn't believe that until I had my unit a couple of days. Great stuff.

You would have to be blind not to be able to tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. 1080p material looks 3 dimensional. There is no way you can confuse the two.
