Sorry, minor hijack attempt here....

I'm just wondering if someone could shed some light on the mentality of guys who drive cars like that.

Yesterday, I'm driving through a parking lot, and a car like that is behind me. I drive a '92 Euro Lumina :p My 1 1/2 yr. old is in a car seat in the back. Did I mention it's a parking lot, one with a lot of speedbumps!

He's on my a$$ the whole way out of the parking lot (I'm not a slow driver in general, I'm actually quite agressive) But I'm not gonna fly over speedbumps. Anyway, I turn right onto the road which I then have to turn right again about 100metres up. So I'm in the right lane. I see that he wants to get past me, so I assume he's going straight as he's in the left lane.

I'm being a little facicious and punch the little lumina a bit and don't let him get to far ahead of me before I have to turn right. Well apparently he was turning right also wanted to get in front of me to do it! Well I guess I forced him to have to slow down (heaven forbid!) and go back behind me.

I turn right, guy on a$$, knowing full well he's going to fly by me when we turn.

He does, which I laugh at, as I just meet him a few seconds later at the next light where we are both turning left now.

Anyway, he turns and floors it and is gone...good riddance!

Why would a guy like that drive like that around me! I mean I'm well aware that I'm not ever gonna "take him" in my Lumina, nor would I even try! Yes you have a fast car, and you can beat a Lumina with a baby in the back! Woopie!!

Just curious to what the thought process is....

Carry on! :)

Nice....and only 33 pounds? I had thought that these conversions added a lot of weight...guess I was wrong. :)

He probably saw that you were a female then felt that he had to exert his inundation of testosterone by driving erratically. Some guys are just like that no matter what car they are driving. About 75% of the time when I drive up next to a guy in a sports car they'll do their best to pass me. It's even worse when they have their girlfriend in the car, because it's as though I insult their manhood by passing them.

It's a testosterone thing, and not all men are victims of neanderthalisms :)

Oh totally! My sweetie has always owned something that has guts...but he knows he drives a fast car and does'nt need to prove it to everyone he sees on the road! He says he's disciplined a few punks who will drive up beside him in there riced up hondas, fart cans a roaring, and think they've got something fast...but only if the situation is safe and it's just once off the line, and then that's that. :)
