What's the point other than to say, "LOOK AT ME, I WASTED THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON A $30,000 CAR AND IT DOESN'T EVEN GO FASTER."

You close the doors and everyone is just going to think that you have a regular 350Z. The only time someone is going to see this "piece of work" in action is if you're getting our of your car, otherwise it's just another Z.

If I were gonna spend money on a Z, I'd spend it a damn supercharger...not stupid sh!t like this:|

It would be better if you pulled the handle and it went up slowly, then when you get inside you push a button and it closes slowly automatically :) Rather than having to yank it.

Umm...what if the driver puts it in the show circuit? What if it makes him all warm and fuzzy inside to have gullwing doors?

Personally, I think it fits the car quite well.

If he feels warm and fuzzy about that, someone needs to kick him in the nuts! :D

Admit it, you too wanted gullwing doors after watching Back to the Future!

From the link I posted, here's some info on it:
2Grand. Bolt on, no welding, cutting, etc.
Weighs 33 pounds total. Angle can be adjusted (so its not vertical). And can even be rigged to open normally if you like.

I remember the company saying it can be installed in under 2 hours, and come pre-painted.

Its expensive, but not that heavy! Only 33lb!

But I fail to see how its possible as a bolt on kit. I'd assume there would be massive welding and cutting to get it to work. Guess not.

It's basically an adjustable trunk hinge. You unbolt the door from the chassis, bolt the hinge in between the door and the chassis, and bam you have you own ghetto lambo doors. Like I said in my earlier post, to actually close the door you lower the door and close it like it were a regular door. To actually have it close like a real lambo door you would need to modify the latch mechanism.

Oh, so now all money spent on a car has to be to make it faster now? Why don't you bitch about his rims too?

Bling Bling wheels are for show. Everyone can see your wheels at just about any time. People will only see the doors open for maybe 1% of the cars life (how often are your car doors open in the course of a day? 10-30 seconds at the most if you don't have a kid...and since the Z is a 2 door, you can scratch that out anyway). You see the wheels 100% of the time.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're going to try to go all out and bling bling your vehicle, at least do it in a way that is going to be more visible.

A lot of people spend quite a bit of money upgrading the sound systems in their Z. Do you disagree with that too? What about different wheels? A good set of Volks will run you several thousand sans tires.

People do things to customize their car that have nothing to do with performance. I think what was done with the doors is in better taste than the normal aesthetic "mods" people add.
