School cop body-slams 6th grade girl to floor

You didn't answer my. What exactly would you suggest they do if a child simply refuses to listen to anyone and refuses to comply with a lawful order of an officer?

Clearly knocking them unconscious and dragging them out is the way to go. This is what you should always do when a child doesn't listen to you.

😵

"The 12-year-old girl did not offer resistance to the police detainment" That is in direct contradiction to the video, in which she is clearly seen kicking her legs and struggling.

""roid raging bully now cop, takes out small dick aggression on 12 year old girl" is more appropriate headline." There is nothing appropriate about such a headline. Accuracy is more debatable.

Nobody said that, and if you'd learn to read you'd know that I already specifically said that the level of force is what is in question here. It's perfectly legit to question if that level of force was needed in that instance.

oh and look

the school let her down.

good to get more one sided info. The article states she offered no resistance. yet she was. Not saying she deserved to be slammed like that. just pointing out this article is biased also.

but if she was bullied and attacked then yes the school let her down. No suprise either. Schools just don't care if a student is bullied.

Are you fucking kidding me? That's hardly even a god damn nudge. My cat bumps into me with more force.

You eejit, he wasn't making an actual recommendation for the news source to use.

this just in: human being tries to resist having face slammed into concrete. The resistance justified having her face slammed into concrete.

If that was me I would just lay there until paramedics arrived.

Trying to pick an e-fight are we? Save your fingers, it will not work. And your inability to detect playful sarcasm or understand what constitutes resisting, is amusing. Do continue though, your manly man talk is mighty impressive. There, used an emoticon so you do not have to rely on more subtle hints to understand the writer's intent.

I think the cop knew he fucked up. He got that expressionless poker face thing as soon as it happened. A little brazilian jujitsu knowledge would of done him good.

resisting is great. it can be refusal to do what they say to even not doing it fast enough for them.

the girl was in the first part. she wasn't doing what they wanted.

question is what happened before that though. the video takes up in the middle.

from what little i read and seen i don't think the slam was warranted. though it was a decent slam (technique wise). he coulda put his weight into it for extra force...

i don't know. he threw her down pretty good. Only issue i had with it (just talking technique) is he didn't fallow her down and use his weight.

but then i don't think they get a ton of training on this..

Girl was resisting, that is clear. She deserved to be controlled. Cop was a bit too gung-ho in his controlling, my guess is didn't judge her weight correctly in the heat of the moment. Bad outcome for both.

My guess is there is still more to the story than that one article.

Schools suck at disciplining their students, bullies or not. A lot are scared of lawsuits, etc.

First I want to point out how stupid your comment was. He did not slam her face into the ground because she was resisting having her face slammed into the ground. He was trying to walk her out and she was resisting. You are trying to frame the situation to be that he was trying to and she was resisting his attempt to slam her to the ground. She was resisting for other reasons, but not in defense.

You are exaggerating the situation in an ad hominem attempt to signal how much of an ass this cop is. His actions are more than enough to justify anger. You dont need to lie and or exaggerate anything here.

She was doing something wrong, but that in no way justifies his actions. That is the reality. You dont need to go any further than that.

I did not comment on the incident any further, because there is insufficient evidence to form a conclusion.

The slam is the result of poor training. The method he chose for restraining her, left him with few options. Particularly without having his body weight either partially or completely land on her; as you noted. Pain compliance is a much better restraining method, and does not result in prolific injuries, or horrific looking takedowns that garner outrage from the public.

Wow.

Countries really do get the police forces that they crave I guess. :\

Depends on what he means by controlled. Do you not believe police should control people at all? That would have to be the implication if you find fault with what his statement was.

Girl was resisting, she deserved to be restrained and controlled. Notice how I said later in that SAME post that he went overboard. -EDIT sorry, the NEXT sentence...

When you resist an arrest by a cop, they have a right to restrain and control you.

In your country do they just ask for you to comply and if you don't they say 'aw shucks that didn't work, guess you're free to go?'

What is it with these people who think force is not necessary or justified or..... When it all really comes down to it, the only real way to make someone do something they really don't want to do is by force. That's why police are allowed to use force, it is the absolute lowest common denominator...

She was bloody dangling her legs. Y'all are making it sound like she was elbowing the cop in the face and breaking his ribs. She's barely god damn nudging the guy.

God damn you guys.

You gotta wonder where they go from this.

If its appropriate to knock a 12 year old girl unconscious on the concrete then what about a 13 year old boy? 90 year old lady?

Presumably thats how they got to the "cops shoots everyone and their dog when he turns up to help" situation that they are in now. What I dont get is that they complain about that one but dont link it to the general violence that they are OK with their police using.

I'll explain what gung-ho means to those who don't know; it means being excessive. So, let me restate what I said so you understand it without the vernacular;

the cop was excessive in his means of controlling/restraining the girl; who was resisting said control.

Maybe some of you have always lived around people who understand they need to do the right thing in social situations, but others who have not understand that physical force is the only thing some people understand and respond to.
