Deserved to be beat by an officer? You do know officers are not there to dole out punishment right? That is for the justice system. Some of you guys don't have a clue about law enforcement or the US justice system. What you are saying is that you are okay with Judge Dredd, not hyperbole or anything. That is the exact commentary that the movie was portraying.

That wasn't a beating, imho. That was a few good pops and a kick in the ass. Come walk around downtown St. Louis with me and you'll run into plenty of juveniles that you wish someone would punch in the face.

I'm probably from a different world than you. Grew up just outside of east st. louis and did go to a high school where people got stabbed and shot at, etc. What that cop did wasn't a big deal in my eyes, but perhaps I'm just conditioned to think that.

Just know that a cop should not put his hands on a person unless the cop is arresting them or the person is threatening the cop. Cops are not supposed to deal street justice.

If the child deserved and needed it yes. The problem with many kids running around like animals is that there's nobody man enough to lay a hand on them.

I think you deserve to have the shit slapped out of you for having that opinion. So now its cool and should be perfectly legal for me to call up a cop buddy of mine to go and slap the shit out of you? Maybe I'll get really lucky and you will try to defend yourself and he can arrest you too!

All fine and dandy, right?

I actually agree with this.

I don't think it was appropriate at all for the cop to do that; I'm just saying I can see instances where a grown man feels there's no other recourse and there is absolutely kids out there that won't respect any authority until they face a real, painful consequence. I run into underage wild kids in downtown st. louis daily that act like they've never been slapped in the fucking mouth or have in any way faced any consequences for their predatory behavior.

When my uncle slapped the shit out of me, it was because I almost burned down a multi-million dollar ranch house that was part of the golf course property he was trying to sell and I was being a dismissive little bitch about it. He was livid and told me straight up I was going to be taught a lesson I would never forget.

And I've been 100% better since then and it really was a turning point in my life that made me think twice about shit I did and said. So I'm glad it happened and I thank him for having the courage to do it.

Uncle neq cop; this was family and the man was sick of my shit after he was incredibly generous to me.

Apples and oranges, but if you think that needs to happen and I'll be better off from it; then maybe that would be for the best.

There's thousands of fatherless young men out there that have no fear of authority and are going to do far worse than 'slapping someone' if they're not put in check.

Come to St. Louis and walk around downtown with me.

It's not the cops you'll be worried about. It's the wild young teens that don't know what it's like to be punched in the fucking mouth by a grown man because they have cracked out moms and their dad is either dead or in prison.

No I'm saying there's THOUSANDS of teen predators running around and someone, cop or not, needs to punch these kids in the face and teach them some consequence to their behavior.

So if the kid in the video is one of these kind of teens, then the cop probably just did their community a favor.

I don't care if teens are wild if they don't hurt anyone. Being loud? IDGAF. Staying out late? IDGAF. Trying to play 'knock out game' then they should be in for a dose of self defense.

I understand why people feel that way. But until you get surrounded by a mob of teens that don't like your blue eyes, you might think twice about the parenting decisions leading up to that event.

wtf i got worse than that from my brother all the time.

One of the best learning moments i had was when my uncle was brave enough to slap the shit out of me for acting like a fool.

I'm glad he did it, too.

The way that cop looked, it seems to be the kid likely needed it.

Cliffs: Meh.

Are you still beating your children?

Not if I was the asshole. Of course I'd rather go to the warm jail where I can get clothes, supplies, and everything free including health care, watch cable tv, play all kinds of fun games and have them bring me food 3 times a day. Thanks taxpayers!

So, when are you volunteering for the 'good life'?

Are you still beating your children?

I can't even accidently kick my cat in the dark without wanting to tear up.

But at this point if a 15yo punk starts shit with me in downtown stl I'll fight him like a man. These fucking kids in st. louis are out of control.

Glad to see the usual bigots still making up BS defenses for a cop breaking the law.

I guess they think cops don't have to follow the law like the rest of us.

And as usual, the cop code of silence is shown again in that his partner didn't report him. #fewmorebadapples.

You know I can't think of one thing that I do in my life that I would be getting hit by the cops for - mainly because I am not an asshole or a piece of shit criminal. I'd say those are the only people that have to worry about cops.

You may not be a criminal, but you certainly are an asshole piece of shit.

So did you guys solve any world issues with this thread yet? ...if not then keep bickering, I'm certain if we go back n forth long enough, an amazing solution to this problem will be made, cops and citizens everywhere will rejoice, embrace and be happy while teenagers everywhere will learn a valuable lesson.

If by doing their community a favor you mean losing their job and getting charged with crimes before they can really hurt someone, yes they sure did do the community a favor.

I watched the video. I'm not worried about the cop, it's the kid I'm worried about.

Cool story. During that same time, do you know who wasn't allowed to use the paddle to hit school kids? Cops.

If you want to change the laws to allow corporal punishment in schools, that is fine. Law enforcement officers have a different role in society than teachers and school administrators and should not be allowed to be the initial aggressor in any confrontation with anyone.

During that time there wasn't cops in schools at least in my experience ( early 1961 up to 1973 ). Didn't need cops in school as the teachers and parents knew how to stop the bull shit and didn't allow the students to rule the schools.
