They and their religious-extremist whacko supporters have spent years spreading lies about the husband, including literally dozens of false allegations of abuse that were investiagated and found groundless. He may be a jerk (I have no idea) but the "life at any cost" crowd have proven themselves to be lacking in morals, ethics, and honor.

The spouse has the legal rights to the body anyway...he has no obligation to tell them where the remains are, and in this case, I certainly don't blame him.
